4 EDM Challenges, CED, & Theme Thursday

This post includes doodle drawings and sketches for Everyday Matters, Creative Every Day, and Theme Thursday combined. They are numbered whatever challenge they are for EDM, they are all for CED, and they represent a COLLECTION of sketches for Theme Thursday. I've had a blast doing them!

These are only sketches. Some are only line drawings and some have shading that may not be entirely accurate since they were born from doodles and I had nothing to actually go by. The pencil I used did not show up well when scanned, so I digitally darkened them so you could see them better.

Anyway, on with the quirkiness...

EDM #243-Draw a pillow...Doodle Emu? napping on one

EDM #224-Draw a pitcher...Pitcher of milk with cantaloup and peaches...doodle sketches, of course

EDM #173-Draw a memory... Late 1950's memory of my older cousin, whom I idolized, and her cat Tiger, who was actually solid black. I might add that the figure bears little resemblence to my cousin, but it's a great memory...

EDM #58-Draw a Hat...Images drawn out of my doodle marks...Looks like the mouse had a hat lunch...

EDM #58/2...Draw a Hat... Another doodle character wearing a hat...I love hats...Wonder what she's thinking...

A project I started this morning. I drew 40 one inch squares on a page in my Moleskine WC book and proceeded to start filling them in with watercolor. None of these are finished, but I thought I'd share them anyway. I will share the page again when I have them all filled in. I may or may not cut them apart. If I don't, I will add frame lines around them. Each 1" square is will be a finished painting when I'm through.

I'm having a lot of fun experimenting. Hope at least one of them made you smile. :)

I like all of the drawings, but I a so intrigued by the inchies project! I can't wait to see it done. Also, I love works in progress so I think it would be great to see this one as it progresses.

I haven't seen
for quite a while
an emu pillow;

thanks for the smile.

The expression
on your cousin's
face

reminded me
of Bedlam...

Cantaloupe and peaches
are surely fruit
from heaven,

but Oh, I Greatly love
a glass of milk,
casserole of mouse

and of course,
a properly peppered

mouse- gnawed hat.
Thanks for that.

Very nice work!
Like your sense of humor.
Cheers

Lots of fun! You must have quite a bit of patience to do the inches project. Good for you! Show us again as you make progress.

Talk about killing numerous birds with one stone. But you don't kill them you draw them which is both kinder and much more enjoyable for your readers. Lovely sketches and I look forward to the finished square sketches.

I like what you're doing...but I really like the inchies. Do inchies never appealed to me, but now that I've seen yours...I want to do a page of them myself...glad you posted them.

Dear Sharon,

I love your dooles, they are clear expressions of you and your world.
Keep free doodling away, it is a most liberating experience. (I have my very own doodles on my own site-feel free to check out if you wish)

As everyone else has said, those inchies are a really great idea! (I tend to steal those). Love the bird most of all (what can I say - I'm quirky myself, and a bird lover. I also think that the sketch of your cousin and the mouse are quite remarkable having sprung from your mind. Fun drawings!

You doodle beautifully! Though I wouldn't call the first drawing of emu on the pillow a doodle, myself...

Aww kudos for the Emu! He's on our coat of arms . . and we eat them. . . well some do . .I don't. Are those little watercolours for ATC's? Is that what they're called. I have a lot of artsy friends and they seem to be the rage at the moment. Do you actually trade them ? Sorry too many questions.

Love the art. I don't think I would have the patience for the inchies. What an unusual concept.

I also do drawings from doodles. It's a lot of fun.
