IMT-Tables

The Inspire Me Thursday challenge this time is Tables, so I thought I'd share my art/writing/dining table with you. It's a little messy, but that's how I like it. It looks really good in this picture compared to what it looks like right now. :) I usually do my computer stuff and writing on one side of the table, my art stuff on the other, and other necessary "stuff" gets mixed together in the middle. :)

On second thought, I'll show you what it looks like right now (the bottom two pictures-sorry about the quality). Should I be ashamed? LOL

Needless to say, we do very little dining on this table. :)

Thanksgiving

This is TT (Tiny Target because she has bullseye markings on her side like her dad (Target) and her mom (Little Target). She is small for her age and darts around like a chipmunk. She's a hoot and I'm thankful for her too. :)

I would like to list all of the people and things I am thankful for, not just today, but every day, however, it would take forever, so here are just a few:

I am thankful for God, my friends and family (both mine and my husband's), that I love and am loved, my new friends in blog land, my cats, cows, Sammidog, the passion for art and writing that I have, and all of the lovely people I've met through those and other hobbies, a warm, comfortable house, art supplies, the 4-wheeler, Sammidog's new insulated house that Spotty-Butt (the kitten) shares with him, the military that are away from their families trying to keep us free and safe, and the list goes on..............

Take time to stop and count your blessings. What are you thankful for?

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who are celebrating Thanksgiving. Have a safe and happy weekend.

Artygirlz Challenge-Favorite Colors

"Hot Chocolate Anyone?"-quirky wc on sketch paper

This weeks challenge over on Arty Girlz is to use our favorite colors. I love most colors, but two of my very favorites are turquoise and red-orange or terra cotta. I tend to use those a lot, or a soft blue and a creamsicle orange. The heart in the photo is actually more orange than it shows up. Hot chocolate also happens to be one of my favorite winter drinks, preferably home made with lots of marshmallows. :)

Blog Award!!!

I just received this Proximity Award from Crissi. I'm a little excited...and a lot honored. Such a nice unexpected surprise and it's beautiful. :) I love the meaning behind it. Thank you so much, Crissi.

This is the message for the award. It is to be passed to 8 other bloggers for the sentiments below. This award states that:

This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY- nearness in space, time and relationships. These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers

I'm passing it on to these wonderful bloggers:

Charlie, Marie, Alberta, Lisa, Pretty Me, Jen, Jessie, Jolene

IMT Challenge

This week's Inspire Me Thursday challenge is to use an Einstein quote. I chose "The most precious things in life are not those one gets for money" and digitally placed it on a favorite photo that I took through the dining room window one day. The photo quality is not great, but the scene kind of fit the quote, and it's true, the best things in life can not be bought. A noon day siesta in the shade with a loved one is one of those things. :)

I couldn't help but smile when I looked out the window and saw Tigger Top and Greybo spooning on the concrete rabbit bench in the shade. Yes, there are two cats on the bench if you look closely. The one behind is a light gray. :)

Mojoart Group Challenge 2--Merry Holidays--This one is for a challenge for the group I belong to. We are having two challenges this time, but I haven't decided on one for the other one yet. This little guy just seemed to fit the holiday one, even if he looks a little lonely or shy. ;)

Sammie-Dog Finds A Home

On the right of the blog (right under Loopy's photo), and here, is a picture of the newest member of our family. This one is the day he came to us starved. The one on the right is after he'd been here a few days. We are blessed that he found us.

Inspire Me Thursday-Coffee Break

Entertaining myself in a 4th floor motel room in Paducah, KY while Jim (hubby) was attending classes for his job, I was doing one of my favorite things; drinking coffee while looking out the window daydreaming. :)

Anyway, I started playing around with my camera, my hand, my coffee cup, and the morning light. I came up with several interesting, at least to me, photos. I like the first one the best, but the silouhette in the second one is kind of interesting too, even if it's not a particularly good photo.

For this week's Inspire Me Thursday challenge I'm sharing my quiet time with you.

Arty Girlz Challenge-Blog Inspiration

This week's challenge at Arty Girlz is using inspiration from someone else's blog or our own. I found inspiration for this atc, as well as all of my quirky art journal sketches, from Judi Russell's website and her art journal technique, especially the earlier ones that look like patchwork in some of my older posts. I have gradually developed my own style, but she opened up a whole new art world to me, and I'm having a blast. :)Untitled--Artist Trading Card-Quirky Journal Ptg-Pencil & WC on WC paper

Remembering Daddy

Tulips were one of daddy's favorite flowers, so this little watercolor painting is for him. He left us unexpectedly on Nov. 11, 2004, four years ago, and not a day goes by that I don't miss sharing my life with him. All the little day to day things. He is always in my heart and I feel his presence around me continually. He was a good dad, and though I'm a senior citizen now, I'm still his "Baby Girl." Always will be.

IMT Challenge-Open Topic

This week's challenge at Inspire Me Thursday is open to anything creative that you want to share, so I thought I'd share this little painting of a girl and her bow that I did last week. I like her and I hope you do too. :)

"The Bow's Not My Only Problem"-art journal sketch/ptg-watercolor on wc paper, black sharpie -She was born of another one of my doodle sketches and she's about postcard size. The background is actually more of a minty green. I couldn't get it adjusted, but maybe she doesn't look too bad.

Perhaps that's why the frown. She's afraid she doesn't look her best. :)

Arty Girlz Challenge #59-Hand Drawn Elements

This week's challenge at Arty Girlz is hand drawing an element in your artwork. Most of the artwork I create is hand drawn, at least partially, so pretty much anything on my blog would fit the challenge. Even Mollie B. Muse (the art doll) has a drawn/painted face under the porcelin mask. Bet ya didn't know that, did ya? :) But I wanted to play so I'm sharing this little drawing (a favorite of mine) that came out of a page of my doodles. I'd love to do a painting of this one sometime. I think it would be great for a child...or my best friend, who is an animal lover too. :) Hope you enjoy it too.

"I Can See MUCH Better From Here!" said the cat on top of the sheep's head.-quirky sketch on bluish-grey pastel paper-pencil & Black sharpie --

Sorry I forgot to crop the picture. I have to get some better pictures made if I'm going to share them with you. I promise! :)

Waiting & My 2nd Blog Has Been Born

"Waiting" -quirky art journal sketch-pencil, black sharpie, wc pencils in sketchbook---Looks like they're getting impatient, doesn't it? :)
Drawing these images out from the doodles is still great fun to me. I look forward to getting up in the mornings to start doodling and sketching. It's become a habit that I hope I don't lose.
I did another brave thing, for me, yesterday (click on the Be Brave Project button at right-click for explanation). I've been thinking about a second blog for a while now, and yesterday I got up the nerve to give birth to one.
Moxie Blue will now contain my art related interests, photos of my creative experiments, etc., and the 2nd blog, Scribbles From Rabbit Hop, will hold my writing related interests, stories, personal experience pieces, things I've had published, etc.
I haven't been doing much writing on this blog except a little about my creative dabblings, but I've been wanting to. My other writing just didn't seem to really feel at home here. Now it has it's own home. I'm still getting things adjusted and set up, which may take a while, but I would love it if you would check it out sometime and leave a comment to say hello. Wish me luck with both my "blog babies." OK? :)
I've been trying for a while to get this post to publish correctly. The paragraphs are fine when I type and save them, but when I publish they all run together. I don't know what the problem is yet. Sorry!
